Lydia aims to reveal, support and champion the creative brains transforming the make-up of where we live
Lydia Catterall is an artist, writer + curious listener
Lydia scribbles, plots, maps and co-creates in all sorts of settings. The shape of her work changes, but always deals with places, systems and how they might work with and for people, in all our soft fleshiness.
She is driven by big questions, and the complexity of hearing them, as artists and human beings. With over 15 years experience in local authority, community, education and arts settings, Lydia brings big questions, rigorous research and a few creative curveballs to any room she’s invited into.
Lydia’s work is care-filled and resource-aware. She lives with chronic illness, making her commitment to access and inclusivity personal, as well as political. Lydia loves walking, will always say yes to good coffee and has a habit of eating gherkins straight from the jar.
She splits her time between Leeds and Birmingham, UK.
